The Standing Agency of the State Inspection Council on construction acceptance has officially issued a document requesting the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to handle issues arising in the process of exploiting and using the Tan Son Nhat Airport - Terminal T3 project.
This agency said that through press reports, there was a phenomenon of rainwater leaking from the glass roof to the floor of the waiting area to the departure gate on the 3rd floor of the T3 Terminal - Tan Son Nhat airport project after heavy rain on May 7, 2025.
The Department of State Inspection on the quality of construction works and the Ministry of Construction (the Standing Committee of the Council) instructed the scene to inspect the scene and requested the investor to urgently complete the remaining parts as committed by the investor; promptly report the implementation results and overcome the problems arising during the operation and exploitation process to the Standing Committee of the Council.
ACV must review the issues arising in the process of putting works into exploitation and use; There are solutions to handle and overcome promptly and ensure not affecting the ability to exploit and operate works. Particularly paying attention to the definitive handling of rainwater leaks from the glass roof to the floor of the waiting room area, planning to ensure safe operation in the rainy season.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that during the heavy rain on the afternoon of May 7, Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal encountered a water leakage incident in the waiting area for the departure gate, surprising many passengers.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a leader of the T3 terminal construction project management board said that the water leak occurred at the glass roof that was lit up in the waiting area for the terminal's departure gate.
The main reason is determined by the hot weather lasting in recent days in Ho Chi Minh City, making the temperature on the glass roof sometimes up to 70-80 degrees Celsius. The heavy rain in the afternoon 7.5 has made the glue on the roof stretched, creating open positions, causing water to flow to the floor waiting for passengers.
The leader of the T3 Terminal Project Management Board also shared that because the project was constructed ahead of schedule to put into operation early, the project did not have enough time for actual testing, leading to this unexpected incident.
