Officials must "grow big, make big", find an output market for agricultural products
From July 1, 2025, the two-level government of Gia Lai province will officially come into operation. The new province has the second largest area in the country, with a population of about 3.5 million people. Gia Lai possesses potential for forest and marine resources to develop tourism economy, renewable energy, and promote industrial parks and economic zones.
In the border commune of Ia Dom, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai province - was concerned about the situation where border communes still have many poor and near-poor households, while the land is large, fertile, the climate is temperate, favorable for high-tech agricultural production.
To meet the growth requirements, he requested cadres and commune authorities to know how to "make big, make big", and "really sacrifice for the common good" for the development of the province. Mr. Tuan assigned the task to commune officials in border areas to know how to do it, know how to find an output market for agricultural products, to avoid the situation of "losing prices in the crop and getting lost prices".
Along with the Le Thanh International Border Gate area that has just been approved by the Prime Minister, the border commune bordering Cambodia will have development space and advantages to attract tourism investment, link agricultural exports, deep processing, and logistics services.
When a business invests in a project, the commune government needs to be unanimous, determined to implement it quickly and conveniently; determined not to let it delay or prolong. The province will balance budget capital to have a separate investment mechanism for Ia Dom border commune and other border communes, creating momentum for economic development" - Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - said.
A series of projects are cleared of obstacles, requiring acceleration
After the merger, a series of key projects that have been sluggish for many years have been directed to remove obstacles in legal procedures. Investors are required to commit to speeding up progress; if delayed or delayed, Gia Lai province will resolutely terminate and revoke the project and hand it over to a capable investor.
In Nam Pleiku Industrial Park, the project is invested by Chu Se Rubber One Member Co., Ltd., with a total area of over 191 hectares, and was approved by the Prime Minister on September 3, 2019. However, due to procedural problems, the project has not yet been put into operation.
On July 9, 2025, after listening to the report, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee - urgently directed departments, branches and sectors to give their opinions and submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for consideration within the week to soon approve the project, removing difficulties for businesses.
The Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary and the working delegation also inspected and directed the removal of obstacles and attracting investment for the FLC Group hotel and golf course complex project that has been suspended for many years. Previously, the investor planned to build a complex of hotels, resorts, and golf courses on an area of 500 hectares, with a total capital of 1,321 billion VND.
At the CK54 land plot near Pleiku airport, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the relevant agencies to speed up the planning and investment progress in hundreds of hectares of land near the urban center, combined with ecotourism development. In July 2025, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que signed a decision approving the project investment policy with a total estimated capital of VND 17,200 billion.
Secretary Ho Quoc Dung requested that leaders of departments, branches, 135 communes and wards in attracting investment must have a focus, key points, and mobilize appropriate resources. The government needs to show openness, friendliness and create the most favorable conditions for investors to feel secure.
