Tay Ninh - The project is identified as a key project to synchronize the infrastructure of the Border Gate Economic Zone compatible with the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway.

The Tay Ninh Economic Zone Management Board has just reported a proposed policy and submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee requesting consideration and approval of the investment policy for the Project "Developing Moc Bai Infrastructure to 2030" with a total estimated investment of nearly 996 billion VND. The construction site is at Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Ben Cau commune, Tay Ninh province.

The project is identified as a key project to synchronize the infrastructure of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, ensuring traffic capacity compatible with the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, while creating a modern, civilized, green and sustainable border gate urban appearance.

According to the submission, the project consists of 3 main components.

First, expand the connecting route from Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway to Moc Bai International Border Gate, about 3.7km long, with a cross-section of 70m, with synchronous items such as drainage system, trees, lighting and traffic signs. The completed route can accommodate 10,000 - 15,000 vehicles per day, significantly reducing the load on National Highway 22.

Second, upgrading and expanding the Moc Bai Border Gate Joint Control Station, combined with renovating the landscape of the milestone area 171. This item aims to form a modern, friendly control space, similar to the model of an air terminal or train station, expanding the area for exit and entry procedures to about 7,500m2 - 5 times the current level, meeting the increased traffic demand in the future. The project also arranges a traffic system, checkpoints for vehicles, roundabouts, roofs and walkways with connecting roofs between barriers, ensuring order, security and aesthetics of international border gates.

Third, build a drainage canal at Moc Bai border gate, including two branches of KT1 and KT1-1, with a total length of 3.53km, to serve the drainage of rainwater and wastewater after treatment for the 375-hectare basin of urban, industrial and commercial areas in the border gate economic zone.

The total investment of the project is nearly 996 billion VND, of which the central government supports about 850 billion VND, the rest is from the local budget and infrastructure fee revenue of the border gate economic zone.

The project implementation period is divided into 2 phases: investment preparation in the period of 2025 - 2026 and construction from 2027 - 2030. The project is decided by the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province as the investor, the form of project management is through a professional consulting unit.

According to the Tay Ninh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, investing in the development of Moc Bai infrastructure is a strategic step to realize the Master Plan for the construction of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone by 2045 approved by the Prime Minister, contributing to enhancing international trade capacity, developing logistics, border tourism and promoting regional linkages between Tay Ninh - Ho Chi Minh City - Cambodia.
