That was one of the notes given by the leaders of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee at the meeting and dialogue with businesses on the afternoon of October 10.
At the meeting, Mr. Ngo Thanh Toan - Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Soc Trang province said that in the first 9 months of 2024, the Provincial People's Committee organized 4 meetings with businesses, recording 18 opinions. Up to now, 16 opinions have been answered and resolved by departments, branches and localities for businesses, and 2 opinions are still being processed.
The province has received and worked with 75 investors, of which 7 investment projects were approved in principle and approved for investors with a total registered capital of about 2,235 billion VND.
According to Mr. Toan, the business registration situation from the beginning of 2024 to now compared to the same period has not achieved the expected development level, the market entry index has grown but not much, the rate of withdrawal from the market tends to increase, continuing to reflect the difficulties in the business environment.
In the first 9 months of 2024, 358 enterprises entered the market; 220 enterprises withdrew from the market; 145 enterprises temporarily suspended operations. Up to now, the whole province has 3,871 enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 50,524 billion.
Faced with difficulties in production and business of enterprises in recent times, Dr. Tran Khac Tam - Chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial Business Association suggested that provincial leaders continue to pay attention and direct departments and branches to solve difficulties for each project and each enterprise, especially administrative procedures; create connections between enterprises in the province and enterprises outside the province, foreign enterprises coming to invest and do business in Soc Trang.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province directed relevant departments and branches to promptly resolve recommendations and difficulties of the business community.
The leaders of Soc Trang province shared the difficulties with the businesses of the province. At the same time, they requested that businesses must respect the law during their operations and not pollute the environment for the sake of production. Businesses need to have social responsibility and participate in activities to care for disadvantaged communities. In particular, they need to implement good policies for employees so that they are attached and devoted to the business. In addition, the business community needs to prioritize cooperation with each other to develop together, for the common development of the province.
