Highland people in Dien Bien experience going to supermarkets for the first time

Dien Bien - On the morning of January 24, hundreds of people jostled to experience and shop at the first large supermarket in Tuan Giao commune.

According to Lao Dong reporters' records, a large number of people eagerly jostled to experience the modern shopping space at the supermarket with a total investment of more than 40 billion VND that has just been opened.

As the eastern gateway commune of the province, Tuan Giao has an important geographical location in trade from Hanoi to Dien Bien. The operation of a large-scale shopping center is considered a turning point in the development of commercial infrastructure in the locality.

Present at the supermarket, PV witnessed many emotions of local people, many bewildered eyes of people in the highlands when first approaching modern commercial models.

For many ethnic minority people, this is the first time they have known about shopping at supermarkets and a completely new experience: taking the elevator.

In the escalator area, many elderly people and young children are shy to grope every step when entering the escalator.

Ms. Lo Thi Tien (70 years old, Tuan Giao commune) said: "This is the first time I have seen a shopping place in my commune that is so big and beautiful, with a playground for the children. Everyone is happy. When entering the elevator, I am also afraid that my feet will not be stable.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Ba - Director of Hoa Ba Education and Trade Service Co., Ltd. said that this is the No. 2 commercial supermarket of the system, which is invested synchronously and modernly.

The supermarket provides tens of thousands of items, from essential necessities to high-end products. Notably, the unit has arranged a separate booth to display and introduce OCOP products of Dien Bien province.

This supermarket also has a positive impact on the local labor market. According to business representatives, when it comes into operation, Hoa Ba Tuan Giao supermarket will create regular jobs for hundreds of workers.

The majority of recruited personnel are ethnic minorities in the locality. When workers come to work, they not only have a stable income but also have access to management technology, sales skills and are guaranteed labor conditions according to regulations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the Company's contributions over the past 20 years.

Mr. Phu hopes that the Company will continue to develop, creating more stable jobs for local workers and laborers. In the immediate future, during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2026, businesses need to prepare good sources of goods to stabilize prices and serve the people.
