On March 3, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee just issued Decision No. 781/QD-UBND approving VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company as the investor to implement the Vinh Thuan Wind Power Plant Project in Vinh Quang commune.
According to the Decision, the total investment capital of the project is 4,679 billion VND, of which compensation, support, and resettlement costs are about 33.8 billion VND and project construction and implementation costs are about 4,645.18 billion VND.
The project has a implementation period of 36 months from the date the investor is recognized as the investor and has a operating term of 50 years.
Vinh Quang Commune People's Committee is responsible for approving compensation, support, and resettlement plans; organizing site clearance according to regulations.
The investor is responsible for fully fulfilling financial obligations; implementing the project in accordance with the objectives, scale, progress and commitments in the registration dossier; not using natural forest land, national defense land, residential area planning land...
At the same time, businesses must closely coordinate with the Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police to ensure national defense and security throughout the project implementation and operation process; project transfer is not allowed without written approval from the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the Decision, after being approved for investment, investors must urgently deploy and shorten the time to put the project into operation from 3–6 months compared to the approved schedule. In case after 12 months from the date of approval but not deployed or unable to implement according to the registered schedule, without a valid reason, the project will be considered for termination according to legal regulations.
The Vinh Thuan Wind Power Plant project is expected to contribute to the development of renewable energy sources, promote socio-economic growth and ensure energy security in the province in the coming time.
According to the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 (Adjustment of Power Plan VIII), the total capacity of renewable energy projects in Gia Lai province is about 9,657.1 MW.
In which, wind power has 74 projects with a total capacity of 5,431 MW; solar power has 24 projects with a total capacity of 1,530 MW; hydropower has 48 projects with a total capacity of 1,553 MW.
