Prime Minister approves dismissal of Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee

The Prime Minister approved the results of the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Van Dung from the position of Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to take on a new task.

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed Decision No. 376/QD-TTg dated March 2, 2026 of the Prime Minister approving the results of dismissal from the position of Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee (HCMC).

According to the decision, the Prime Minister approved the results of dismissal from the position of Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term X, 2021-2026 for Mr. Nguyen Van Dung.

Previously, on February 6, 2026, at the 8th session of the 10th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2021-2026, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, delegate of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the term 2021-2026.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung was born in 1972, native of Ho Chi Minh City; is a Master of Political Science, Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Economics, Senior in Political Theory. He was awarded the Third-class Labor Medal in 2020, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in 2006, Medal "For the Young Generation" in 2001, Ho Chi Minh City Badge in 2005.

Previously, in November 2023, while holding the position of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung was elected by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and then held this position for more than 2 years.

During his work, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung used to hold many leadership positions in Tan Binh and Tan Phu districts before.

In June 2016, he was elected by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council as Head of the Economic - Budget Committee. He also held the positions of Deputy Secretary of the District 1 Party Committee, Chairman of the District 1 People's Committee before.
