The Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure Summit (DCCI Summit) 2025 was organized by Viettel IDC in collaboration with the world's leading technology partners on April 22, 2025, with the theme "Green Tech, Green Future". This year's conference not only mentioned the latest advances in the field of data centers and cloud computing, but also delved into the problem of sustainable development - a piece that is increasingly important in the strategy of businesses.
At the plenary session, in his presentation, Mr. Le Ba Tan - Director of Viettel IDC said that according to the United Nations' forecast on trade and development, over the past 10 years, total global revenue from products and services has increased from 2,500 billion USD in 2023 to about 16,400 billion USD in 2033, an increase of about 6.5 times.
In particular, the market share contributed by AI increased from 189 billion USD to 4,772 billion USD, which is 25 times the growth rate. That shows that AI has become a superior technology, present in all areas of life and has become an important factor in today's technology world.

According to Mr. Tan, all countries and economic groups must take advantage of this opportunity to develop their business and develop their countries.
On the other hand, everyone's development leads to a sudden increase in calculated resources. The United States is the world's leading country, the cradle of AI technology. In the third quarter of 2024, the growth investment for the infrastructure of 4 major American cloud service providers, including Meta, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, for the first time in history, has exceeded the investment for the two largest industries of the United States, telecommunications and petroleum. Who has been changing almost comprehensively the investment items of the Big Tech.
Viettel IDC Director said that AI servers alone cost 8 - 10 billion VND, 4 - 50 times more than PC server prices, however, they have a very short life cycle. Therefore, this is considered a challenge for AI infrastructure investors such as Viettel IDC, so investors need to be very careful in choosing the right model and version to avoid technology price drops and ensure investment efficiency.
The traditional data center market continues to maintain growth, with the countries with the largest data centers being the US (accounting for 45.6% of the global market share), Germany (4.4%) and the UK (4.4%).
In terms of applications in the database, communication applications are still growing, accounting for about 55%, but AI applications will increase by 3 times and gradually become a part with a scale equivalent to traditional applications.
And a big challenge is facing digital transformers, especially when AI servers have large electricity consumption levels, from 10.2 kW to 120 kW depending on the configuration. By 2030, it is estimated that 70% of the global digital transformation capacity will be served by AI, requiring new cooling and energy solutions.

According to Mr. Tan, the scale of the Vietnamese online shopping market is in a relatively high growth stage, forecast to reach 630 million USD this year and will reach 1.1 billion USD by the end of the decade. In 2024, Viettel IDC will lead with a market share of 49%, far surpassing other units such as FPT (17%) or CMC (10%).
Mr. Le Ba Tan said that one of Vietnam's advantages is that the cost of building and operating a shopping mall in Vietnam is much lower than that of other countries in the region, so the rental price of services is also lower. This is a great opportunity for Vietnam in the context of a wave of data and technology infrastructure shift taking place strongly from developed economies to Southeast Asia.
