From mid-January 2026 (early December of the lunar calendar) is the peak of the sticky rice and tangerine rice harvest season in An Nhon field (Da Teh commune). The atmosphere of sticky tangerine harvesting takes place bustlingly and excitedly to deliver sticky rice to traders in time.

According to local people, the sticky and tangerine rice variety originated from the Northwest region, and was transplanted to be grown in Da Teh land (Lam Dong province) from around 1988.
Thanks to being suitable for the soil and climate, tangerine sticky rice grains are round, fragrant and sticky right from when they are still in the fields. In particular, in Lam Dong province, only the Da Teh land can cultivate this rice variety and produce the highest quality and yield.

Mr. Luu Van Phuong, Vice Chairman of Da Teh Commune People's Committee, said that the sticky rice product has been granted the exclusive trademark "Da Teh Sticky Rice" by the Intellectual Property Office since 2016 and is present on the map of Vietnamese specialty rice. Currently, this sticky rice variety has been put into the gene bank with a volume of 500kg for preservation.

Currently, Lam Dong province has issued origin traceability stamps to 1 cooperative, 3 business establishments and 1 enterprise for use. In particular, since 2019, Da Teh tangerine sticky rice products have been recognized as OCOP 4 stars, contributing to affirming the brand in the market," Mr. Phuong said.
This year's tangerine sticky rice crop, people in Da Teh commune planted more than 300ha to serve the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 market.

With specific soil and climate characteristics, each year, the fields near Da Ham dam and An Nhon field (Da Teh commune) produce 2 seasons of sticky tangerines and 1 season of ordinary rice, with an average income of about 170 million VND/ha, higher than the general income of the locality.
Not only famous for tangerine sticky rice, local people also develop many typical products such as tangerine sticky rice wine, dong dong wine, tangerine sticky rice banh chung. Among them, "daughter" milk flower tangerine sticky rice is chosen as a raw material for processing dong dong wine.

The current price of fresh sticky rice and tangerines ranges from 11,500 - 12,500 VND/kg for organic standard products (the price of finished rice is from 50,000 - 55,000 VND/kg).
Meanwhile, VietGAP standard sticky rice is priced from 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg (finished rice from 30,000 - 32,000 VND/kg).

Da Teh tangerine sticky rice is one of the typical specialty brands of the locality. Since being awarded the OCOP star, this product has become increasingly in demand, especially during the peak season serving the Lunar New Year market every year.
Currently, Da Teh commune has Quyet Tam Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative specializing in producing tangerine sticky rice in a high-tech direction, meeting VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
In 2025, the cooperative organized production of 2 sticky rice crops/year; about 350ha were certified to meet VietGAP standards, with an average yield of 6.5 tons/ha/crop. Total output reached about 2,000 tons of rice, revenue of about 15 billion VND, profit of nearly 6 billion VND/year.
