Retail gas price
The domestic retail gas market on April 28 continued to maintain a sideways state in key areas, without recording new adjustment factors after previous fluctuations.
In the North, the price level is almost unchanged. In Hanoi, the price of 12kg gas cylinders is maintained at 598.104 VND, while 48kg cylinders are stable at 2,464.992 VND. Similarly, Hai Phong continues to maintain the price of 596.160 VND for 12kg cylinders and 2,462.400 VND for 48kg cylinders, showing that the market is in a stage of accumulation with a narrow fluctuation range.
The Central region recorded stable developments in Da Nang. The price of 12kg cylinders continued to be maintained at 560,000 VND, while 48kg cylinders remained at 2,179,000 VND, unchanged compared to the previous session. After previous deep declines, the market here is gradually establishing a balanced state.
In the South, the sideways trend continues to dominate. In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of 12kg cylinders remains unchanged at 592,000 VND and 48kg cylinders are 2,364,000 VND. Meanwhile, Can Tho is still the area with the lowest price level in the country, with 12kg cylinders only about 550,000 VND and 48kg cylinders at 2,200,000 VND, creating a significant gap compared to major cities.
Not only differentiated by region, the market also shows differences between brands. Petrolimex's gas price in Hanoi is currently still maintained at 598.104 VND/12kg cylinder, reflecting the trend of maintaining stable prices of the group of key enterprises.
In general, the gas market is moving in a stable direction but clearly differentiated by area and distribution system. In the context that there are no major fluctuations from world energy prices, the price level is likely to continue to maintain a sideways state in the short term, with the difference mainly coming from transportation costs and the characteristics of each region.

Brand gas prices
Petrolimex's gas price in Hanoi on April 28 continued to maintain a stable state, without any adjustments compared to the previous session. Specifically, the price of a 12kg cylinder remained at 598,104 VND, while a 48kg cylinder (industrial type) was listed at 2,464,992 VND. This development reflects the sideways trend of the domestic gas market in the context that no new impact factors from input costs have appeared.
In the high price group, Saigon Petro continued to list at 654,500 VND/12kg cylinder and 2,455,000 VND/45kg cylinder, unchanged compared to recent sessions.
Meanwhile, Pacific Petro maintained a stable price list with 650,000 VND for 12kg cylinders and 2,480,000 VND for 45kg cylinders. Keeping the price unchanged for many consecutive sessions shows that the market is in a short-term supply-demand balanced state.
For PV GAS, gas prices continue to be stable but clearly differentiated by region. In Hanoi, a 12kg cylinder is listed at 610,200 VND, while in Ho Chi Minh City, the price is significantly higher, at 640,081 VND. This difference reflects differences in transportation costs and market characteristics between regions.
Although the price level by brand continues to be flat, the price gap between distribution systems remains significant. In this context, closely monitoring price movements by brand and region will help households and businesses be more proactive in choosing sources of supply, thereby optimizing fuel costs.
