Gia Lai directs functional sectors to control the gasoline and oil market, investigate and strictly handle acts of speculation, smuggling, and violations in gasoline and oil business.

On March 8, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that it had directed agencies, units and localities to strengthen inspection and control of gasoline and oil business activities in the area.

According to Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, recently, the world political and security situation has become complicated and unpredictable; especially conflicts in the Middle East region are directly affecting the global energy market, affecting gasoline and oil supply and prices.

These fluctuations potentially pose the risk of speculation, hoarding, creating artificial scarcity; taking advantage of the situation to unreasonably increase prices, manipulate prices; trading in substandard gasoline and oil or violating legal regulations, affecting market stability and people's lives.

Faced with this situation, the Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to closely monitor the developments of supply and demand, supply sources and gasoline and oil selling prices in the area.

Promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to handle abnormal signs of the market, not to let supply disruptions occur, affecting production, business and people's lives.

At the same time, directing the Market Management Sub-Department to strengthen inspection and control of gasoline and oil business activities in the domestic market, especially at enterprises and retail stores.

Through this, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of taking advantage of market fluctuations to hoard goods, create supply scarcity, arbitrarily increase prices, sell at prices not in accordance with listed prices; trading in gasoline and oil of unknown origin, not ensuring quality and other violations.

Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to coordinate with functional forces to firmly grasp the situation in the area, promptly detect, investigate and strictly handle violations of the law in gasoline and oil business activities.

In which, focus on fighting acts of speculation, smuggling, trade fraud; transporting, storing, and trading illegal gasoline and oil affecting economic security and social order and safety.

Directing professional units to strengthen reconnaissance work, promptly detect and establish specialized cases to fight and dismantle lines and groups taking advantage of supply and demand fluctuations to mix and mix illegal gasoline and oil, especially organized acts, inter-provincial activities, large-scale; resolutely initiate criminal cases and strictly handle violators.

Previously, Petrolimex Gia Lai One Member Limited Liability Company requested stores to temporarily stop selling gasoline and oil through cans and drums.

According to this business, through monitoring, the unit discovered many cases of customers buying gasoline and oil through cans and drums in large quantities, while previously these customers usually only bought in small quantities.

The fact that many customers buy and store gasoline and oil through cans and drums in large quantities poses a risk of fire safety for the buyers themselves and the community.

In addition, in the context of rising gasoline and oil prices, some key gasoline and oil stores in some localities have restricted or temporarily stopped selling goods. This has caused supply pressure to rush to the Petrolimex system, which may affect the work of creating sources and ensuring stable supply.
