On July 17, Mr. Duong Mah Tiep - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies to review, inspect and evaluate OCOP products in accordance with regulations.
After 6 years of implementing the "Over-commune, one product" (OCOP) program, Gia Lai province currently has more than 500 certified products. Of which, 1 product achieved 5 stars, 67 products achieved 4 stars and 421 products achieved 3 stars, from 208 entities including enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities, business households and cooperative groups.
The OCOP program has spread strongly in the residential community and businesses, bringing positive results. People and businesses producing agricultural products such as honey, coffee, pepper, cashew, durian, etc. have participated in e-commerce platforms and online sales channels, contributing to increasing revenue and profit.
However, to prevent commercial fraud and poor quality products from affecting consumer health, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province requires competent authorities to strengthen supervision of raw material areas, production conditions, food safety certification, packaging, labels, codes - lines, intellectual property, environmental factors... for recognized OCOP products.
Faced with the situation of counterfeit goods appearing on the market, the province requested the commune-level authorities, the Market Management force, the Inspectorate of the Department of Health, the Department of Agriculture and Environment... to organize periodic or surprise inspections of the business and distribution of OCOP products in the area.
Resolutely recall OCOP products that do not meet quality, violate regulations and publicize information to consumers and distribution channels.
