World oil prices today
World oil prices fell across the board on December 10 (Vietnam time). At 10:11 a.m., WTI crude oil was at $68.06 per barrel, down $0.31 per barrel, or 0.45%. WTI crude oil closed yesterday's trading session at $68.37 per barrel and opened today's session at $68.13 per barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $71.85 a barrel, down $0.29 a barrel, or 0.40 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $72.14 a barrel and opened today at $71.90 a barrel.
Thus, after a sharp increase of 1.4% and 1.7% for Bren oil and WTI oil respectively in the first trading session of the week (December 9), world oil prices today, December 10, simultaneously turned to decrease.
There were early signs of disruption in the oil market, Reuters reported, with an Iranian tanker bound for Syria having to turn back in the Red Sea.
Meanwhile, a series of information from China shows that the world's largest crude oil importer is implementing a policy to promote consumption. "Unconventional" measures will be applied to expand domestic consumption, including increasing money supply and lowering interest rates. This is a factor supporting the increase in oil prices.
Pressuring prices was news that Saudi Arabia’s top oil exporter, Aramco, had cut its January 2025 prices to Asian buyers to their lowest since early 2021. The market feared this could signal weak demand.
