World oil prices today
World oil prices simultaneously fell sharply. At the end of the trading session on June 11, WTI and Brent oil prices decreased by 2.6% and 2.9% respectively.
By this morning's session, two oil commodities continued to decrease sharply. At 7:52 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 86.44 USD/barrel, down 1.27 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.45%. WTI oil price closed the previous trading session at 87.71 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 85.68 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price is at 89.12 USD/barrel, equal to the closing price of the previous session. Brent oil price ended the previous trading session at 89.12 USD/barrel and opened this morning's session at 89.11 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, oil prices are under downward pressure after US President Donald Trump announced that he had canceled plans to attack Iran due to significant progress in negotiations with Tehran and some countries in the region. However, Mr. Trump did not disclose details of the contents that the parties are said to have agreed upon.
The Iranian side believes that no written agreement has been approved. Previously, President Donald Trump repeatedly declared that an agreement with Tehran was about to be reached, but then continued to issue warnings and threats when Iran did not accept requests from Washington.
On June 11, Mr. Trump warned that he would strike a "very strong" blow to Iran. However, sources from Iran and some Western officials said that indirect negotiations towards a preliminary peace agreement have been strongly promoted recently.
Developments in the Strait of Hormuz continue to attract the attention of the global energy market. The Iranian Maritime Administration announced the "complete shutdown" of this strategic shipping route until further notice, and warned that it would attack any ships trying to pass through the area.
However, the US military said that commercial ships are still circulating normally through the Strait of Hormuz and affirmed that no US warships were attacked. On the contrary, Iranian state media said that US ships operating near this area were targeted by missiles and drones.
Sea transport data also shows that three more ships carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) left the Strait of Hormuz in a state of positioning equipment turned off and heading towards Asia, although the specific time has not been determined.
Meanwhile, India recorded another incident involving a ship off the port of Shinas in Oman on the morning of June 12, marking the third incident of the week. However, the country's oil refineries said they have ensured sufficient crude oil supply to meet demand at least until the end of August.
In the opposite direction, the supply-demand factor continues to support oil prices. Data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) shows that the country's crude oil inventory decreased by 7.2 million barrels, to 426.5 million barrels in the week ending June 5. This decrease is significantly larger than the forecast of 4 million barrels of analysts participating in Reuters' survey, reflecting that consumption demand is still high.

The retail price of domestic gasoline and oil mentioned above was adjusted by the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on June 1. In which the price of E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 452 VND/liter; E10 RON95-III gasoline decreased by 270 VND/liter; diesel oil 0.05S decreased by 989 VND/liter; mazut oil 180 CST 3.5S decreased by 1,037 VND/kg.
