World oil price today
At the end of a trading week, WTI crude oil was at 67.04 USD/barrel last weekend, slightly increasing to 67.18 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, WTI crude oil increased by 0.14 USD/barrel, fluctuating unendingly compared to last week.
Brent oil was at 70.36 USD/barrel last weekend, increasing to 70.58 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, Brent oil increased by 0.22 USD/barrel, down 0.3% compared to last week.
Thus, world oil prices have ended a series of consecutive declines, recording a week of slight increases despite the insignificant increase. Analysts predict that oil prices may decrease in the short term next week, but geopolitical tensions still pose the risk of supply disruption, pushing prices up again.
The International Energy Agency warned that global oil supply this year could exceed demand by about 600,000 barrels/day, in the context of increased supply from the US and weaker global demand than expected. The agency has also lowered its demand growth forecast for the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025 due to macroeconomic instability, stemming from escalating trade tensions between the US and some countries.
Analysts said that oil prices will find it difficult to recover sustainably as demand risks remain high, while supply from OPEC+ ( Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies) continues to increase.
