World oil price today
World oil prices continue to decrease today. At 10:30, WTI crude oil was at 61.61 USD/barrel, down 0.01 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.02%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 61.62 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 61.73 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 64.52 USD/barrel, down 0.01 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.02%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 84.53 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 64.61 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices continued to trade around the previous closing price, after falling sharply in yesterday's session (May 15). At the end of the session on May 15, Brent and WTI oil prices decreased by 2.36% and 2.42%, respectively. By this morning's session, both oil products continued to struggle, unknown trends.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On May 16, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil has been adjusted according to the price of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade jointly announced in the price management session on the afternoon of May 15, 2025. Accordingly, petroleum products have increased simultaneously.
Accordingly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 403 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 415 VND/liter, diesel increased by 419 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 285 VND/liter and mazut increased by 627 VND/kg.

The discount levels of gasoline products today, May 16 at some domestic gasoline trading enterprises are as follows:
Hoang Trong General Trading Company Limited: Diesel 0.05S - II: 1,050 VND/liter, applied at Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter, applied at Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong; Diesel 0.05S - II: 900 VND/liter, applied at Bac Ninh warehouse; RON 95 - III gasoline: 950 VND/liter, applied at Bac Ninh warehouse; E5 gasoline: 900 VND/liter, applied at Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec.
Tu Luc Petroleum: Diesel discount 0.05S-II: 600 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 550 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 600; E5 gasoline: 550 VND/liter.
MIPEC Petroleum: RON 95 - III Petroleum Discount: 1,050 VND/liter; E5 Petroleum: 900 VND/liter; Diesel 0.05S-II: 1,100 VND/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may have opposite adjustments.
Of which, RON 95 gasoline price is forecast to decrease by about 100 VND/liter; E5 gasoline decreases by about 90 VND/liter; Diesel increases by about 190 VND/liter.
