Pre-match information
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club entered the semi-final with an excited spirit thanks to the force significantly strengthened by foreign and overseas Vietnamese players.
Their squad has up to 6 notable foreign and overseas faces, including centre-back Aubrey Goodwill, striker Sabrina Marie Cabrera - both from the US, along with midfielders Maria Jamila Khan (Pakistan), Sakura Yoshida (Japan), Ashley Tram Anh (Vietnam) and Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi (Vietnam) (Cada).
In particular, three of these, Maria Khan, Sakura Yoshida and Nam Mi, have just joined and are considered strategic additions to increase the strength of the squad in the important period.
Their opponent in the semi-finals is Wuhan Jiangda - a Chinese team with home advantage. However, with an unimpressive performance in the group stage (winning only 1 match, losing 2 matches and entering the next round thanks to a save), Wuhan Jiangda did not make experts highly appreciate.
Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi believes that her students are capable of winning, when sharing that the whole team has prepared carefully and is ready to enter the match with the highest determination.
