World oil price today
World oil prices continue to decrease today. At 11:36 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 70.19 USD/barrel, down 0.21 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.30%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.40 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.11 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 73.88 USD/barrel, down 0.17 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.23%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 74.05 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 74.00 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices continued to fall to a low level, prolonging the sharp decline from the trading session at the end of last week.
According to analysts, oil prices are tending to " cool down" due to the gradual decline in Middle East risk insurance rates, along with uncertainty about the possibility of reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. In addition, Israel and Hamas have begun indirect negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, reducing the risk of supply disruption, which could impact oil prices.
However, oil prices' decline this week was still limited by supply disruptions in Russia and the US. Oil production transported via pipeline by the Caspian Pipe Alliance (CPC) has decreased sharply after the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station in the Krasnodar region, southern Russia, was attacked.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On February 24, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 20, 2025. Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 257 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline increased by 257 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 40 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 10 VND/liter; mazut decreased by 183 VND/kg.

Tu Luc Petroleum: Diesel discount 0.05S-II: 1,400 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 1,300; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,400; E5 gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter.
MIPEC Petroleum: RON 95 - III Petroleum Discount: 1,100 VND/liter; E5 Petroleum: 1,000 VND/liter; Diesel 0.05S-II: 1,300 VND/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, gasoline prices may have opposite adjustments in the direction of slightly decreasing gasoline prices and increasing oil prices.
In particular, gasoline prices are forecast to decrease by about 10-50 VND/liter; oil prices may increase by about 100-200 VND/liter.
