World oil price today
World oil prices today turned down. At 11:16 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 72.44 USD/barrel, down 0.04 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.06%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 72.44 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 72.56 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 76.44 USD/barrel, down 0.04 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.05%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 76.48 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 76.68 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices turned down slightly after yesterday's price increase. At the end of the trading session on February 20, world crude oil prices increased simultaneously, with both Brent and WTI oil increasing by 0.58% and 0.44%, respectively. By this morning's session, both of these items had turned to decrease.
According to analysts, oil prices increased due to reduced inventories of US gasoline and distillate products and concerns about supply disruptions from Russia. US crude oil inventories increased by 4.6 million barrels to 432.5 million barrels in the week ended February 14, exceeding forecasts. However, gasoline inventories have decreased by 151,000 barrels and distillate products have decreased by 2.1 million barrels due to maintenance by refineries. crude oil inventories increased but inventories of gasoline and distillate products decreased, helping oil prices increase slightly.
Concerns about supply from Russia and Ukraine have also pushed oil prices up. Ukraine is attacked by gas facilities; Russia announces sharp decline in oil flow from the Caspian pipeline alliance.
Analysts warn that US import taxes will curb oil prices, increase costs, and reduce fuel demand. Bjarne Schieldrop (SEB) experts are concerned about the global economy when the US imposes a 25% tax on imported cars.

The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 20, 2025. Accordingly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 257 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline increased by 257 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 40 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 10 VND/liter; mazut decreased by 183 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, gasoline prices may continue to increase.
In particular, gasoline prices are forecast to increase by about 150-200 VND/liter; oil prices may increase by about 200 VND/liter.
