World oil price today
World oil prices today fell sharply. At the end of the weekend trading session, WTI crude oil was at 70.22 USD/barrel, down 2.26 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 3.12%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 72.48 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 72.56 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 74.43 USD/barrel, down 2.05 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.68%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 76.48 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 76.66 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices in the trading session at the end of the week plummeted. According to analysts, oil prices suddenly reversed and fell more than 2 USD as investors faced a gradual reduction in risk insurance fees in the Middle East, along with uncertainty about the possibility of reaching a peace agreement in Ukraine.
The disruption of oil supply has contributed to limiting price declines. Russia said oil flows through the Caspian pipeline Alliance (CPC) - an important route for crude oil exports from Kazakhstan to the global market - have decreased by 30% to 40% since February 18, after a pumping station in Russia was attacked by drones.
With crude oil prices remaining below $80/barrel, analysts expect OPEC+ to once again delay the decision to cut production.
