World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices increased sharply. At the end of yesterday's trading session (April 23), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 3.11% and 3.1% respectively.
By this morning's session, both oil commodities continued the upward trend. At 7:58 am (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price was at 97.21 USD/barrel, up 1.36 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.42%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 95.85 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 96.47 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 106.7 USD/barrel, up 0.26 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.24%. Brent oil price closed the previous trading session at 106.44 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 106.44 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, world oil prices increased sharply as the peace negotiation process between Iran and the US fell into deadlock, while trade restrictions through the Strait of Hormuz remained.
The oil market is currently affected by many conflicting information: On the one hand, there is a signal of extending the ceasefire, on the other hand, the US still makes tough statements.
Although the ceasefire was extended as proposed by Pakistan, transportation through the Strait of Hormuz is still restricted from both sides, increasing concerns about supply.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On April 24, retail gasoline and oil prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 are as follows:

The above-mentioned domestic retail gasoline and oil prices were adjusted by the inter-ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on April 23.
Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 100 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline decreased by 162 VND/liter; diesel oil 0.05S decreased by 1,159 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 820 VND/kg.

Gasoline and oil price stabilization fund expenditure
According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world gasoline and oil market in this operating period is affected by key factors such as: No progress in peace talks between the US and Iran; increasing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine still taking place... The above factors have caused world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each item.
In the operating period on April 23, 2026, the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance decided to apply the level of deduction and expenditure of the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund according to Decision No. 969/QD-BCT dated April 23, 2026 of the Minister of Industry and Trade on the application of measures to use the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund, implementing domestic gasoline and oil price management to ensure accurate reflection of the trend of fluctuations in world gasoline and oil prices; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 bio-gasoline and RON95 unleaded gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels; ensure harmony of interests between market participants.
Accordingly, the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund (temporary advance source from the state budget) is established at the following levels:
- Biofuel: 0 VND/liter;
- Unleaded gasoline: 0 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil: 400 VND/liter;
- Mazut oil: 400 VND/kg.
Expenditure using the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund (appeal source from the state budget), with levels:
- Biofuel: 0 VND/liter;
- Unleaded gasoline: 0 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil: 0 VND/liter;
- Mazut oil: 0 VND/kg.
