World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices fluctuated sharply. At the end of yesterday's trading session (April 21), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 3.1% and 2.8% respectively.
By this morning's session, both oil commodities turned down. At 7:32 am (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price was at 89.35 USD/barrel, down 0.32 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.36%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 89.67 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 90.07 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 98.27 USD/barrel, down 0.95 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.96%. Brent oil price closed the previous trading session at 99.22 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 99.23 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, oil prices rose sharply yesterday after Iran said it had not yet made a decision on participating in peace talks with the US.
Supply is tightened as transportation through the Strait of Hormuz is almost stalled. Transport data shows that only 3 ships passed through this area in the past 24 hours.
The market is currently awaiting weekly inventory reports from the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Analysts forecast that US oil inventories could decrease by about 1.2 million barrels last week, marking the second consecutive week of decline since February.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On April 22, retail gasoline and oil prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 are as follows:
The above-mentioned domestic retail gasoline and oil prices were adjusted by the inter-ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 4 pm on April 21.
Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 658 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline decreased by 719 VND/liter; diesel oil 0.05S decreased by 3,185 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 701 VND/kg.
