World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices have just recorded mixed fluctuations. At the end of yesterday's trading session, WTI oil prices decreased by 2.8%; Brent oil increased by 3.6% respectively.
By this morning's session, both oil items simultaneously decreased. At 7:48 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 92.98 USD/barrel, down 0.91 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.97%. WTI oil closed the previous session at 93.89 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 93.54 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 95.97 USD/barrel, down 0.67 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.69%. Brent oil closed the previous session at 96.64 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 96.65 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, world gasoline and oil prices continued to fall sharply, simultaneously pulling transaction prices down below 96 USD/barrel.
Brent oil prices fell sharply by about 7% in the first trading session of the week, to the lowest level since April 20, after expectations appeared that the US and Iran could reach a peace agreement to end the conflict, thereby gradually resuming transportation through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, new US attacks on southern Iran have made this prospect more fragile. Iran accused the US of violating the temporary ceasefire agreement by conducting airstrikes in Hormozgan province - an area near the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the US said that the negotiation process to end the conflict could last for a few more days.
Previously, the two sides were said to have reached a memorandum of understanding on the possibility of ending the conflict and resuming freight transport through the blockaded area, and allocating an additional 60 days to continue negotiating more complex issues, including Iran's nuclear program.
Experts believe that the market is still waiting for more specific signals about the possibility of reaching an agreement between the US and Iran. Meanwhile, tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate, and the volume of transportation through the Strait of Hormuz is still significantly limited.
Developments in the Middle East continue to strongly impact global energy market sentiment, as many countries strengthen energy security measures and closely monitor the risk of oil supply disruptions.
