Gasoline and oil prices today 3: 3: Strong increase, highest in 9 months

World oil prices today

World gasoline and oil prices are on a very strong upward trend. At the end of yesterday's trading session (March 2), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 6.3% and 6.7% respectively. In yesterday's session, both oil commodities fluctuated very strongly, WTI oil prices at one point increased by more than 12% to 75.33 USD, the highest level since June 2025.

By this morning's session, world oil prices continued to increase sharply, at 12:39 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 73.121 USD/barrel, up 1.98 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.788%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 71.23 USD/barrel; and opened the weekend session at 71.27 USD/barrel.

Brent oil was at 80.38 USD/barrel, up 2.64 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.40%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 77.74 USD/barrel; and opened today's session at 77.78 USD/barrel.

According to analysts, geopolitical tensions are strongly impacting the energy market outlook. Price volatility is forecast to increase in the short term, accompanied by the risk of disruption or change of global crude oil and energy product shipping routes if the conflict continues to escalate. In that context, oil prices are likely to face upward pressure in the coming days.

Domestic gasoline prices today

March 3rd, retail gasoline and oil prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 are as follows:

The retail price of gasoline and oil in the country mentioned above will be adjusted by the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on February 20, 2025.

Accordingly, E5RON92 gasoline increased by 889 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline increased by 999 VND/liter; diesel oil increased by 754 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 854 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 173 VND/kg.

According to a representative of a gasoline and oil business, domestic gasoline and oil prices will fluctuate according to the world gasoline and oil situation. According to current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may increase sharply.

In which:

- RON 95 - III gasoline increased by about 1, 510 VND/liter;

- E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increased by about 1,400 VND/liter;

- Diesel oil increased by about 2,450 VND/liter.
