Gasoline and oil prices today 5.2: Unexpected reversal

World oil prices today

World gasoline and oil prices today turned down sharply after the previous strong increase session. At the end of yesterday's trading session (February 4), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 3.05% and 3.16% respectively.

By this morning's session, both oil commodities suddenly plummeted. At 12:21 PM (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 63.68 USD/barrel, down 1.48 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.27%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at a price of 65.14 USD/barrel; and opened today's session at a price of 64.32 USD/barrel.

Brent oil was at 67.91 USD/barrel, down 1.55 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.25%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 69.46 USD/barrel; and opened today's session at 68.77 USD/barrel.

Domestic gasoline prices today

February 5th, retail gasoline and oil prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 are as follows:

The above domestic retail gasoline and oil prices are adjusted by the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on January 29, 2025.

Accordingly, E5RON92 gasoline increased by 56 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline increased by 214 VND/liter; diesel oil increased by 473 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 226 VND/liter; mazut oil increased by 761 VND/kg.

+ Hai Linh Warehouse, Hai Phong: Diesel oil 0.05S: 500 VND/liter; Gasoline RON 95 - III: 700 VND/liter.

+ Bac Ninh Warehouse: Diesel oil 0.05S: 350 VND/liter; Gasoline RON 95 - III: 550 VND/liter.

+ Nghi Son Warehouse: Diesel oil 0.05S: 450 VND/liter; Gasoline RON 95 - III: 700 VND/liter.

- Tu Luc Petroleum Joint Stock Company 1:

+ Diesel oil 0.05S - II: 400 VND/liter;

+ Diesel oil 0.001S-V: 400 VND/liter;

+ RON 95 - III gasoline: 650 VND/liter;

+ E5 gasoline: 650 VND/liter.

Domestic gasoline and oil price forecast for the next period

According to a representative of a gasoline and oil business, domestic gasoline and oil prices will fluctuate according to the world gasoline and oil situation. According to current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may be slightly adjusted.

In which, the forecast price of RON 95 - III gasoline may increase by 30 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increases by 90 VND/liter; Diesel oil increases by about 280 VND/liter.
