World oil prices today
World oil prices continue to rise. At the end of yesterday's trading session (September 7), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 1.3% and 1.1% respectively.
By this morning's session, WTI oil prices continued the upward trend. At 8:24 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil prices were at 92.49 USD/barrel, up 1.01 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.10%. WTI oil prices closed the previous trading session at 91.48 USD/barrel, and opened today's session at 92.50 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 97.08 USD/barrel, down 0.23 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.24%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 97.31 USD/barrel, and opened today's session at 97.12 USD/barrel.
This is the highest closing price for both oil products since July 24.
World oil prices rose to a 7-week high, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, raising concerns that oil supplies from the region could be disrupted more seriously.
The US and Iran launched attacks on oil tankers and warships last weekend, marking a significant escalation of the conflict.
Oil prices continued to rise after Iran announced that it would respond to US attacks by targeting energy infrastructure across the Middle East. Tehran also announced that it would establish a new restrictive zone outside the Strait of Hormuz, and warned of sanctions against ships entering this area without cooperation with Iran.
In another development, tensions in the Middle East continued to escalate after Israeli airstrikes targeted a town in southern Lebanon, killing at least 12 people, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
Notably, transportation through the Strait of Hormuz - a strategic shipping route for the global energy market - is declining. According to data from Kpler analysis company, in the past 10 days, on average only 10 cargo ships have passed through this strait every day, the lowest level since May.

Domestic gasoline and oil price forecast for the next period
According to a representative of a gasoline and oil business, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may increase.
In which:
- E10 gasoline increases by about 1,300 VND/liter
- E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increased by about 1,400 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil increased by about 700 VND/liter.
