Customs accompanies and removes difficulties for businesses
On June 19, 2025, the Customs Branch of the XVII Region organized the 2025 Business Dialogue Conference, attracting the participation of more than 70 typical enterprises and representatives of many associations and management agencies.
Sharing at the conference, Head of the Customs Branch of the XVII Region, Nguyen Trung Hai, emphasized that enterprises have made important contributions to economic growth, budget revenue and import-export turnover of the province and the whole country.
Accompanying that development, the Customs of the XVII region always strives to reform administrative procedures, modernize customs management, towards building a professional - transparent - effective customs. These efforts not only contribute to the state budget but also contribute to attracting investment, promoting economic development and social security in the management area.
As evidence for this, implementing the policies of the Party, the Government and the direction of the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Department, in March 2025, the unit has gradually arranged, streamlined, and stabilized the organization according to the new model, ensuring customs clearance for import-export goods of enterprises. According to statistics in the first 6 months of 2025, the Customs of the XVII region processed 303,244 declarations, an increase of 16% over the same period last year, with import-export turnover reaching 10.4 billion USD, an increase of 8%, and budget revenue reaching 2,273 billion VND, an increase of 8%, reaching 50% of the annual estimate.
Today's conference is not only an opportunity for us to listen, share and remove difficulties and obstacles in import-export activities, but also an opportunity for the Customs Branch of the XVII region and the business community to look back, evaluate and continue to strengthen cooperation and companionship in the coming time - Branch Director Nguyen Trung Hai affirmed.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Van Son - Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - emphasized the viewpoint: "Long An government and businesses are two friends, accompanying and developing together". He pledged to always accompany and create the most favorable conditions for businesses and investors to develop long-term and effectively in Long An.
Directly answering issues of concern to businesses
At the conference, business representatives raised questions about procedures and customs clearance time; tax policies and supervision of import-export goods; post-clearance inspection, settlement reports, supervision of the use of goods exempt from tax. With an open and constructive spirit, the customs authority has recognized the difficulties, answered them clearly, fully and with quality. The contents beyond the authority will be compiled to report to the Customs Department or competent authorities for consideration and resolution as soon as possible.
Responding to businesses, Head of the Department Nguyen Trung Hai said that opinions on problems, recommendations and implementation solutions from businesses are useful information to help customs agencies have more basis to review and improve business processes, and at the same time recommend competent authorities to make necessary adjustments to facilitate import-export and business activities of businesses.
The customs authority is committed to always innovating, improving management efficiency and creating the most favorable conditions for import-export activities. In particular, the focus is on 5 main actions including: strengthening administrative discipline, strictly handling violations; propaganda, supporting businesses; resolving transparent and fair procedures; promptly handling problems; improving civil servant capacity. At the same time, it is recommended that businesses cooperate in complying with the law, supporting anti-smuggling and accompanying in digital transformation to improve the efficiency of procedures.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hai hopes that in the upcoming journey, businesses will always accompany, enhance understanding and cooperation in the spirit of "Together thinking - Together working - Together sharing - Together developing", to promote compliance with the law, while contributing opinions to perfect policies in accordance with the reality of socio-economic development, towards a transparent, favorable and effective business environment.
Recognizing enterprises for their good compliance with customs laws
At the conference, the Customs Branch of the XVII region awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 enterprises with outstanding achievements in 2024. Of which, 7 enterprises were commended for their good compliance with the law and achieving large import-export turnover, including: Alliance One, Simone Vietnam, Long An Export Garment, Espersen Vietnam, Lien Quan, Dong Hai Luong Vietnam and Tien Giang Food.
In addition, 5 enterprises were rewarded for their good compliance with tax policies and having a high number of budget contributions, including: The Gioi Viet, Long An Food, Vina One, Le Long Viet Nam and HS Company.
The representative of the Department assessed that this recognition is not only a gratitude to the enterprise but also demonstrates the commitment to accompany and serve the management agency. This is also a driving force for businesses to continue expanding production and business activities, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the area.
