Implementing Official Dispatch No. 38 of the Prime Minister and the peak plan of the unit, Market Management Team No. 1 has continuously inspected many businesses and business households showing signs of intellectual property infringement.
At a business in Tan Thoi Hiep ward, functional forces discovered 708 sunglasses bearing brands with signs of counterfeiting famous brands protected in Vietnam, worth more than 72 million VND. Because the business could not present invoices and documents proving the legal origin of the goods, the entire shipment was temporarily detained for verification.
The Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department issued a decision to fine the enterprise 140 million VND, and at the same time forced the destruction of all violating goods.
Next, inspecting a business in Phu Loi ward, Market Management Team No. 1 discovered 7,790 pairs of socks bearing famous brands protected in Vietnam with signs of counterfeiting, with a total value of more than 225.9 million VND. Due to not being able to prove the legal origin of the goods, the entire shipment has been temporarily seized. The case is being further verified for handling according to regulations.

Not only focusing on consumer goods, functional forces also discovered many signs of violations against industrial materials.
At a business in Binh Hung commune, the inspection team discovered 3,790 bearings (silver bullets) showing signs of counterfeiting, worth more than 183.4 million VND.
Notably, these goods only have original labels in foreign languages but no Vietnamese sub-labels as prescribed. Business representatives have also not presented documents proving legal origin, so all goods have been temporarily seized to serve investigation and verification.
In another case, inspecting business households in Thuan Giao ward, the Market Management force discovered 579 pairs of shoes and sandals showing signs of counterfeiting, worth more than 89.2 million VND. The case file has been transferred to the Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Sub-Department for handling according to their authority.
