On the afternoon of August 27, in Ho Chi Minh City, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association, term 2026-2031, took place.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee for term I (2026-2031) and the Inspection Board. Mr. Mai Huu Tin - Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of U&I Investment Joint Stock Company - was elected Chairman. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dao - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Dong Nam Advertising & Trade Promotion Joint Stock Company - was elected Head of the Inspection Board.
In addition to passing important documents, the congress also took opinions and voted to rename "Ho Chi Minh City Business Association" to "Ho Chi Minh City Business Federation" to better suit the scale and representative role, strengthen the linkage strength of the business community, and meet the requirements of integration and development in the new stage.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - attended and presented flowers to congratulate the Congress. Speaking to direct, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc praised the spirit of innovation, overcoming challenges, and persistent striving of the city's business community and entrepreneurs in the past time.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee proposed to focus on four strategic tasks. First, shift the mindset from "reflecting policies" to "together accompanying, creating and implementing policies". Second, take linkages to create the strength of the new city. Third, digital transformation and green transformation must become core competitiveness. Fourth, accompanying the construction of a rapid, sustainable and meaningful city.
Speaking to receive his assignment at the congress, Mr. Mai Huu Tin - Chairman of the 2026-2031 term - said: "What makes us continue to work is not only profit, but also joy when we see our businesses grow, when we see workers having a better life, when we see Vietnamese products being welcomed by the world market, when we see our country developing faster because of the very small contributions of our own businesses.
According to Mr. Mai Huu Tin, this is also a motivation for the business community to continue to strive and contribute to the development of the city and the country in the new period.
