On the afternoon of October 20, the 11th Conference of the Industry and Trade Sectors of the Southern provinces and cities officially opened in Tay Ninh province, chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang. The conference was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, representatives of the Departments of Industry and Trade of the Southern region and many enterprises and industry associations.

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang emphasized that despite facing many difficulties from the global economic context, the Southern Industry and Trade sector still maintains a stable growth rate, continuing to make great contributions to the economic development of the region and the whole country. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry is still the main driving force, renewable energy and border trade have achieved many positive results, along with digital transformation and green transformation being promoted in many localities.
However, the region still has some limitations such as unsynchronized logistics infrastructure, slow supporting industry development and loose linkages between localities. Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang suggested that the delegates focus on discussing and providing solutions to remove obstacles, promote sustainable, green and deeply integrated industrial and trade growth.

Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh affirmed that hosting the conference is an opportunity for Tay Ninh and the southern provinces and cities to strengthen connections, share experiences and form a new industrial value chain. He said that the industrial production index of many localities reached double-digit growth in the first 9 months of 2025; total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by more than 12%, regional trade reached more than 18 billion USD.
According to Mr. Thanh, the two-level local government model is effective, helping the administrative apparatus to be more streamlined and flexible in managing industry and trade activities, contributing to removing difficulties for businesses and supporting production and business.
This conference not only summarizes the results of the industry's activities in the past year but is also a forum to promote regional linkages, shape new supply chains and encourage green transformation and digital transformation in the whole region. Within the framework of the event, from October 20 to 26, Tay Ninh will also organize a fair exhibiting typical rural industrial products and a conference to promote the Southern region in 2025.
