The Thừa Thiên Huế Tax Department has recently made public a list of taxpayers who owe taxes and other government revenue. The reason for this disclosure is that more than 90 days have passed since the tax deadline.

Multiple measures of compulsory enforcement
On August 6, in an interview with Lao Động Newspaper, Mr. Hà Văn Khoa, Director of the Thừa Thiên Huế Tax Department, said that according to the debt management process, businesses that owe taxes will be subject to compulsory enforcement in various forms, depending on the level of compliance with the law by these businesses.
For example, for businesses that owe taxes, the first step will be to freeze their bank accounts. If they do not have sufficient funds in the frozen account, the next step will be to enforce compulsory measures on invoices. If this is still ineffective, the tax authority may request the provincial People's Committee and the Department of Planning and Investment to revoke their business registration certificates.
"In particular, if the business owner fails to comply with tax laws and regulations, leading to tax arrears, and the tax authority has already applied compulsory measures multiple times but still cannot recover the debt, we will notify the business owner that they will not be allowed to leave the country.
For example, we will give them a 10-day notice. If they still fail to fulfill their tax obligations after the deadline, we will send a notification to the public security authorities to temporarily restrict their travel abroad. The ultimate goal is to recover the tax debt and put it into the state budget in accordance with the regulations, not to cause difficulties for businesses" - Mr. Khoa explained.
