The Hung Yen Longan Festival and Trade Promotion 2026 takes place with many promotional activities, trade promotion and honoring the cultural values of Hung Yen Longan. This is the first time the Hung Yen Longan Festival and Trade Promotion has been organized at the provincial level after the "Knowledge of Growing and Processing Hung Yen Longan" was included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The festival takes place from August 7 to 9, expected to welcome tens of thousands of delegates, tourists, people and businesses inside and outside the province. Before the opening ceremony, on the afternoon of August 7, an incense offering ceremony was held at the Dinh - Chua Hien relic complex.
The highlight of this year's festival is the connection between product promotion and honoring cultural values. At the opening ceremony on the evening of August 7, the Organizing Committee screened a report promoting Hung Yen longan and an art program.
In particular, the program has a ceremony to announce and award Certificates from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on bringing "Knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen longan" of localities into the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
Being listed is not only the pride of longan growers but also opens up opportunities to build the Hung Yen longan brand based on cultural depth, creating a foundation for sustainable development.
Within the framework of the festival, trade promotion activities are focused on. The Department of Industry and Trade coordinates to prepare the Longan Market and agricultural products, typical products of the province; and plans to organize 2 livestream sessions on digital platforms to promote and connect the consumption of longan and local specialties.
In addition, many cultural, sports and experiential activities are organized such as experiences at longan gardens, competitions to prepare longan dishes, longan whirlpools and activities to introduce typical products of the province.
The festival is an opportunity to widely promote Hung Yen longan, and at the same time contribute to connecting products with consumers, businesses and the market, linking trade development with preserving and promoting local cultural values.
