On August 3, according to the Hung Yen Provincial Electronic Information Portal, Mr. Le Quang Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - chaired a meeting to listen to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism report on the progress of preparing for the Hung Yen Longan Festival and trade promotion in 2026.
According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, up to now, the tasks of preparing for the festival are being implemented by departments, branches, and localities according to plan. Propaganda work is being promoted on mass media and digital platforms; the design of banners and propaganda banners has been completed, ready to deploy visual propaganda in the festival organization area.
The incense offering ceremony at the Dinh - Chua Hien relic complex is expected to take place on the afternoon of August 7. The opening program will be held on the same evening at Nam Hoa Park (Pho Hien ward) with the following contents: opening speech, screening of a report promoting Hung Yen Longan, announcement and awarding of the Certificate "Knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen Longan" to be included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, along with a unique art program.
Regarding trade promotion activities, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated to prepare the Longan and agricultural products fair, typical products of the province; and plans to organize two livestream sessions to promote and consume longan and specialty products on digital platforms. Cultural and sports activities, longan garden experience, longan dish cooking contests, longan vortex... are also being urgently completed.
At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing the progress of implementing tasks, plans for arranging festival space, exhibition areas, organizational costs, security and order assurance, fire prevention and fighting, and conditions for festival services.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Quang Hoa requested departments, branches, and localities to continue to closely follow the plan, proactively coordinate, and accelerate the progress of implementing assigned tasks; complete detailed scripts for each activity, carefully survey the organizational ground, unify the design plan for the display space, ensure synchronization, professionalism and create highlights for the festival.
Emphasizing that this year's festival is of special significance when it is associated with receiving the Certificate of "Knowledge of growing and processing Hung Yen Longan" as a national intangible cultural heritage, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that all propaganda, display and art programs should highlight the value of knowledge of growing, caring for, and processing longans; linking with OCOP products, processed products, tourism and cultural products to comprehensively promote the Hung Yen Longan brand.
He also proposed that wards and communes strengthen the mobilization of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and businesses to participate in festival activities; build longan garden experience tours; organize good culinary activities, introduce processed products from longan and local specialties.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested units to urgently complete the preparation work, ensuring that the Hung Yen Longan Festival and Trade Promotion 2026 takes place safely and effectively, creating a spreading effect, contributing to promoting longan consumption, tourism development and promoting Hung Yen's image and culture.
