K+ stops broadcasting from January 1, 2026: Ministry of Industry and Trade requests explanation

The National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has issued a document requesting K+ to explain the cessation of providing paid television services.

Over the past time, the National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) recorded that Vietnam Satellite Digital Television Co., Ltd. (the Company) stopped providing pay television services under the K+ brand from January 1, 2026. This is a decision that directly affects many consumers who are using this service.

Performing the state management function of protecting consumer rights, on December 29, 2025, the National Competition Commission issued a document requesting the company to explain the suspension of the payment television service under the K+ brand mentioned above.

At the same time, the National Competition Commission requested Vietnam Satellite Digital Television Co., Ltd. to fully and accurately implement, ensuring transparency and convenience in the process of providing information and guiding consumers when implementing refunds.

In particular, ensuring full and accurate implementation of responsibilities in providing services that are not in accordance with the registered content, notification, announcement, listing, advertising, introduction, agreement, commitment according to the provisions of Article 36 of the Law on Protection of Consumer Rights in 2023.

Based on the request of the National Competition Commission, Vietnam Satellite Digital Television Co., Ltd. is in the process of completing information to serve the reporting and explanation.

To improve the effectiveness of protecting consumer rights, the Committee informs and guides consumers to pay attention to the implementation of refunds, specifically as follows:

Subscribers are consumers who have paid fees and have service validity after December 31, 2025.

- Implementation method: Consumers directly access the Website: https://hoantien.kplus.vn and follow the instructions on the Website to fulfill the refund request.

- For individuals performing transactions with distribution partners of K+ television channels: please contact distribution partners to fulfill the refund request.

- In case of arising damages related to the above-mentioned service consumption, consumers have the right to request compensation for damages in accordance with the provisions of civil law.

The National Competition Commission continues to summarize and evaluate information and documents related to the case to ensure the legitimate rights of consumers and create a transparent and sustainable business environment.
