Realizing the market potential from the success of the “take away” coffee business model in big cities, Mr. Lo Van Khai - Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district, decided to invest in Dien Bien.
With a convenient location on the main road of Vo Nguyen Giap, Mr. Khai's take-away coffee model quickly became known to many people. On average, he sells more than 50 cups of coffee per day, mainly salt coffee and brown coffee. With affordable prices ranging from 20,000 - 25,000 VND/cup, the revenue from this model reaches over 1 million VND/day.
According to Mr. Khai, with an initial capital of about 5 million VND, he has equipped himself with basic brewing equipment and necessary ingredients, and can open a mobile coffee selling model. "What is special is that when combining the famous local Arabica Muong Ang coffee with other types of coffee, it will create a unique flavor," said Mr. Khai.
Although it was only launched about 3 months ago, Mr. Khai's coffee has attracted a large number of customers. In particular, the salt coffee has become a "specialty" loved by many people, with more than 2,000 cups sold. Along with that are more than 1,000 cups of brown coffee and nearly 1,000 cups of Matcha.
As one of the pioneers in this model in Dien Bien province, Ms. Lo Thi Khuyen - Nam Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu city - said: "With not too much investment capital, anyone can start a take-away coffee business. Just prepare coffee ingredients, some simple brewing tools and you can start."
According to Ms. Khuyen, instead of spending time sitting at a coffee shop, customers who do not have much time often choose to buy take-away coffee to enjoy when they arrive at work. With stable quality and reasonable prices, the counter sells an average of more than 300 cups of coffee per day, bringing in revenue of up to 6-7 million VND and a profit of over 50%.
“In addition to customers visiting the counter, I also promote online sales and home delivery. To diversify products, I also serve tea, fruit and some other foods,” said Ms. Khuyen.
According to a survey by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, in Dien Bien Phu City, drinks at take-away coffee models are often priced 5,000 - 10,000 VND/cup lower than those at coffee shops. Because there is no cost for renting premises and serving staff. Thanks to that, profits can be optimized.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan - Thanh Luong commune, Dien Bien district - said: "I often use the take-away coffee service because it is suitable for workers like us as it saves time and we can enjoy drinks anytime, anywhere."
Having just been launched for over a week, the take-away coffee model of Mr. Nguyen Tan Sang - Sam Mun commune, Dien Bien district has quickly attracted the attention of many customers, especially young people.
According to Mr. Sang, getting the first customers is the most difficult thing. "After overcoming this stage, building a brand and creating trust with customers is a process that requires perseverance and stability in quality as well as service attitude," Mr. Sang added.
