This afternoon (September 28), the funeral of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap - was solemnly held at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.

General Secretary and President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Manh, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and many other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State sent wreaths.

Attending the funeral, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong led the delegation to pay their respects and burn incense to bid farewell to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

"Deeply mourning the passing of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha, wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap. I respectfully send my deepest condolences to the entire family" - Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong wrote in the condolence book.

On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong offered incense and expressed his deepest condolences to the family of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

Writing in the condolence book, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong wrote: "Deeply mourning Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha - wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap. Her passing is a great loss, leaving behind endless sorrow that nothing can compensate for for her family and relatives."

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha led the Government delegation to pay their respects to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha. Writing in the condolence book, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha wrote: "On behalf of the Government, we are deeply saddened and respectfully bid farewell to Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha. We would like to express our deepest condolences to the entire family...".

A shining example, silently sacrificing for a great cause

Many leaders of ministries, branches and localities also came to visit and send their deepest condolences to the extended family of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha.

"The passing of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha leaves behind infinite sorrow for all cadres, party members and people of the capital," the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee wrote in the condolence book.

Information from the family of General Vo Nguyen Giap said that the funeral of Associate Professor Dang Bich Ha will be held on the morning of September 29 at Vung Chua - Yen Island.
