Kien Giang - In April 2025, 193 new enterprises were established with a registered capital of more than 1,600 billion VND.

On May 6, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province held a regular meeting for April 2025. According to the Provincial People's Committee, the socio-economic situation in April 2025 continued to develop quite well. Compared to the same period, many economic indicators continue to grow strongly, especially industrial production, trade, tourism services, etc.

In April 2025, the value of industrial production is estimated at more than VND 5,000 billion, up 15.9% over the previous month; Total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at more than VND 14,500 billion, up 7.13% over the previous month. Kien Giang is expected to welcome 1.2 million visitors, an increase of 33.5% compared to the previous month. Of which, international visitors were more than 629,300, reaching 52.4% of the plan, up 69.9% over the same period.

The whole province is estimated to welcome nearly 324,000 visitors during the April 30 and May 1 holidays alone (an increase of 18.8% over the same period), with total tourism revenue reaching about more than VND 986 billion.

The supply and demand of goods in the province is stable, goods meet the shopping needs of consumers. In April 2025, 193 newly established enterprises with registered capital of more than VND 1,600 billion; 51 enterprises registered to operate again. To date, the whole province has 12,110 enterprises, with a registered capital of VND 218,000 billion.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan requested that with the spirit of breakthrough and acceleration, departments, branches and localities continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the main tasks and solutions in 2025. The focus is on reviewing and urging the tasks and targets set for the second quarter of 2025 according to the growth scenario.

"Focus on removing difficulties and obstacles for investors and businesses; Establishing inspection teams for works and projects; Resolutely handling difficulties in construction materials, site clearance for public investment projects and key projects for economic development of the province", Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan emphasized.

Increase forecasting and solutions to respond to natural disasters and thunderstorms at the beginning of the rainy season. Continue to vigorously implement the peak plan against IUU fishing. Complete cleaning of enterprise tax code data to register for organization identification accounts, land data, and population data.

Ensure social security, care for meritorious people and poor households. Continue to effectively implement the Project of 1 million social housing apartments, workers' housing, student dormitories. Prepare all aspects of work to implement the end of district-level activities, merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, etc.
