Kien Giang - The peak of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights from now until June 15, 2025.

Recently, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province issued Plan No. 175 on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation in Kien Giang province.

The Provincial People's Committee requests to step up information, propaganda, management, and strict control to prevent false advertising from occurring, easily causing confusion to the people. Education and mobilize people not to participate in or assist in smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringements of intellectual property rights.

Research, review, and detect any loopholes or inadequacies in this work to amend, supplement or propose competent authorities to amend, supplement, and perfect them in accordance with legal regulations.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to closely coordinate with provincial departments, branches, sectors and localities to mobilize people to build a mass movement to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights according to regulations.

The Department of Industry and Trade - Standing Agency of Steering Committee 389/KG, detects and strictly handles violations, promptly investigates, prosecutes, proposes prosecution and trials according to regulations for subjects of smuggling activities, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, infringement of intellectual property rights, goods of unknown origin and related violations.

The Provincial Police established a special project (if any) to fight fiercely and strictly handle criminal acts; conduct a review of subjects and areas, focus on identifying organizations and individuals suspected of having signs and symptoms of this violation, goods of unknown origin and related violations.

The Provincial Border Guard Command strengthens the force to strictly control the border (focusing on border areas, trails, openings, canals, rivers, border ports, etc.); coordinates with functional forces to plan to organize patrols, control, and blockades on routes capable of illegally carrying and transporting goods across the border.

The Department of Health strengthens and promotes inspection, control, and strict handling of the trade and sale of fake drugs, smuggled drugs, fake pharmaceuticals, drugs of unknown origin, fake milk, and fake health protection foods...

The Department of Agriculture and Environment strengthens inspection and strictly handles violations of forestry products, seafood, production and trading of plant varieties, livestock, fertilizers, and fake pesticides; at the same time, measures are taken to control the use of growth stimulants for fruit products, the use of over-the-counter chemicals, and preventing water loss after defrosting to deceive about quantity and reduce quality.

The Department of Science and Technology shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to strengthen inspection and examination of the labeling of goods circulating on the market in the province, carry out traceability of products, goods, the use of codes and lines to promptly detect acts of labeling goods, information tracing the origin that is not in accordance with regulations, prevent fraud, fake labeling, and origin of Vietnam.

The Provincial Economic Zone Management Board inspects and strictly controls enterprises with production activities in industrial parks. Ensure the issuance of certificates of origin of Vietnam for export goods using raw materials and supplies of imported origin according to the provisions of the law on the origin of goods.

Request the Customs Branch of Region XX to direct relevant units and functional forces to tighten the work of checking the origin from the stage of receiving documents to the stage of post-clearance inspection of export goods.
