HCMC handles a series of intellectual property infringement cases
The Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department said that during the peak period of combating counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights infringement, Market Management Team No. 10 handled 12 cases of violations related to trading in counterfeit goods bearing trademarks of many famous brands protected in Vietnam.
Functional forces have temporarily seized more than 600 products including shoes, clothes, glasses, phone components... with a total value of more than 120.5 million VND and administratively fined 189 million VND. All counterfeit goods infringing intellectual property rights are forced to be destroyed according to regulations.
At the same time, Market Management Team No. 20 inspected and handled 7 cases of intellectual property violations, temporarily seizing 317 products worth more than 42.3 million VND. Destroying more than 400 pairs of fake famous brand shoes in Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh Provincial Market Management Department said that Market Management Team No. 7 coordinated with Nam Minh Commune Police to conduct a surprise inspection of a shoe business establishment owned by Mr. N.V.T. At the time of inspection, the facility owner had not presented a business household registration certificate as prescribed.
Functional forces discovered more than 400 pairs of sports shoes showing signs of counterfeiting famous brands such as Adidas, Nike and Asics, with a total value of more than 94 million VND. The facility owner could not present invoices and documents proving the origin of all violating goods.
After the verification process, the Ninh Binh Provincial Market Management Sub-Department fined the business establishment more than 77 million VND and applied remedial measures according to regulations.
