Seizing 5,436 counterfeit branded clothing products in Ho Chi Minh City
The Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department said that Market Management Team No. 18 had just conducted a surprise inspection of a business in Binh Hoa ward, discovering 5,436 garments showing signs of counterfeiting famous brands, with an appraisal value of more than 9.5 billion VND. The business declared that it was processing according to a contract but could not present documents proving legal origin. The verification results with the brand owner determined that all goods were fake.
The expanded investigation process showed that this enterprise had previously processed nearly 13,000 products of the same type. According to the appraisal certificate, the total value of related goods in the entire case amounted to more than 35.6 billion VND.
Because the case has a large value of goods and signs of crime, Market Management Team No. 18 has transferred the entire file to the investigating agency for handling according to regulations. In the coming time, the market management force will continue to strengthen inspections, coordinate with the police and functional agencies to prevent acts of producing and trading in counterfeit goods and infringing intellectual property rights right from the production stage. Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee does not agree with the proposal of Bacninhtourist Investment, Trade and Tourism Co., Ltd. on continuing to implement the project to build a Hospital and Nursing Home in Tam Da commune (formerly Dong Phong commune, Yen Phong district), agreeing with the proposal of the Department of Finance.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to guide and urge units and investors to carry out the next procedures according to regulations; and at the same time assigned Tam Da Commune People's Committee to review the project's conformity with the planning and current regulations to serve as a basis for handling the next steps on investment, land and bidding.
The project's investment portfolio was approved in January 2022, with a scale of about 500 beds on an area of 4.89ha, with a preliminary total cost of about 746 billion VND. See more...
