Son La farmers are busy with the Tai Nung pear crop
In mid-June, many Tai Nung pear growing areas (VH6) in Phieng Khoai, Ta Xua, Van Ho and Long Sap communes of Son La entered the main harvest season. The whole province currently has more than 200 hectares of pears, concentrated in highland communes. This year, pears are fruitful, of good quality, and are purchased by traders right in the garden at prices from 25,000 - 40,000 VND/kg, helping people have a stable income.

In key growing areas such as Phieng Khoai and Ta Xua, Tai Nung pear trees have adapted well to climate conditions, yielded high yields and become crops that bring economic value. Many households earn hundreds of millions of VND per crop, while cooperatives are promoting classification and affixing origin traceability stamps to expand consumption channels through distribution systems and e-commerce platforms.
In addition to economic efficiency, the Tai Nung pear growing model also contributes to crop restructuring, developing commodity agriculture associated with experiential tourism. In Van Ho and Long Sap, many households have converted inefficient production land to grow pears, forming concentrated production areas, creating sustainable livelihoods and gradually building the brand of Son La's typical agricultural products.
