Continuously detecting and handling intellectual property violations
On June 11, information from the Nghe An Provincial Market Management Department said that market management teams in the area have continuously inspected, discovered and handled many cases of trading in counterfeit branded goods.
On June 9, Market Management Team No. 3 issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against a sports shoe business store owned by Mr. H.X. D, located in Hai Loc commune, Nghe An province, for the act of trading in counterfeit branded goods.

Previously, on June 4, Market Management Team No. 3 coordinated with Hai Loc Commune Police to conduct a surprise inspection of the above store. Through inspection, functional forces discovered 10 pairs of sports shoes showing signs of counterfeiting the Nike brand being protected in Vietnam.
Working with the inspection team, the store owner could not present invoices, documents and related documents to prove the legal origin of the goods. The total value of the fine collected in the case is 8.3 million VND.
On June 8, Market Management Team No. 8 issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against business household Phan Duc Son (located in Lien Thanh hamlet, Tam Dong commune, Nghe An province) for the act of trading in counterfeit trademarks; and at the same time forced the destruction of all violating goods.
Previously, on June 2, Market Management Team No. 8 coordinated with Tam Dong Commune Police to inspect a ready-to-wear clothing store of this business household, discovering 35 adult T-shirts showing signs of counterfeiting the LV - Louis Vuitton brand being protected in Vietnam.
At the time of inspection, the facility owner could not present invoices and documents proving the legality of all the above-mentioned goods. The total value of fines collected in the case is 19.8 million VND.
On June 3, Market Management Team No. 11 issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against business household Thai Van Kieu, address at Nguyen Van Cu street, Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, for the act of trading in counterfeit trademarks.
Previously, on May 29, Market Management Team No. 11 coordinated with functional forces to conduct a surprise inspection of this business household, discovering 40 pairs of men's sandals showing signs of counterfeiting the Hermes brand being protected in Vietnam. The business household owner could not present invoices, documents and related papers to prove the legal origin of the goods.
In this case, the business household was fined 16 million VND; the total value of fines collected is over 35 million VND.
Request for handling intellectual property infringement increases by at least 20%
According to the Nghe An Provincial Market Management Sub-Department, implementing the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Domestic Market Management and Development Department, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Industry and Trade, the unit has directed its affiliated teams to launch campaigns, focusing resources on the peak period of monitoring, inspection, and handling of acts of intellectual property rights infringement.

In May 2026, the Nghe An Market Management force handled 27 violations, exceeding 286% compared to the number of cases handled in May 2025 and exceeding 238% compared to the target set out in Official Dispatch No. 38/CD-TTg.
The amount of money collected and paid to the budget in May 2026 reached 185 million VND, exceeding 189% compared to May 2025; the total value of fines collected reached 283.13 million VND, exceeding 288% compared to the same period.
Along with the handling results of the Market Management force, on June 8, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 6567/UBND-VX on implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung in Notice No. 287/TB-VPCP dated June 5, 2026 on summarizing the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 38/CD-TTg dated May 5, 2026 of the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh assigned directors and heads of provincial departments, agencies, and branches; chairmen of People's Committees of wards and communes to proactively study and organize the full implementation of directing contents based on their functions and tasks.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to preside over and coordinate with departments, agencies, branches, localities and relevant agencies and units to continue to drastically, synchronously, and effectively implement tasks and solutions on the implementation of intellectual property rights in 2026 and the following years.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province requests to further promote inspection, detection, and timely and thorough handling of acts of intellectual property rights infringement in the area; thoroughly handle subjects taking advantage of social networks to trade in counterfeit goods and trade in intellectual property infringement products.
Notably, the province requires that the handling results in 2026 must increase by at least 20% compared to 2025 in all stages, from inspection, examination, administrative handling to investigation, prosecution and criminal trial.
According to the Nghe An Provincial Market Management Department, in the coming time, functional forces will continue to strengthen inspection, control, and strictly handle violations, contributing to protecting consumer rights and building a healthy business environment.
