According to the decision announced by the Chief Auditor of the State Audit Office of Sector III Vu Ngoc Tuan, two audits will be conducted. First, audit the management and use of public finance and public assets in 2024 and the thematic of management, use, rearrangement, and handling of real estate according to Decree 167/2017/ND-CP and Decree 67/2021/ND-CP at the Ministry of Health, led by Deputy Chief Auditor Pham Thanh Ngoc. Second, audit the management of medical waste at hospitals in the period of 2022-2024, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thu (Head of Department, State Audit Office, Sector III).
The audit's objective is to confirm the honesty and reasonableness of financial figures and settlement reports; at the same time, assess compliance with the law, effectiveness and efficiency in public financial management and public assets. The audit also focuses on promptly detecting violations, corruption, waste and negativity, clearly defining the responsibility of collectives and individuals to propose handling.
Within 60 days, the Audit Team will review the work of preparing, allocating, assigning and complying with estimates; managing budget revenue and expenditure, public assets; managing capital and investment costs of projects; as well as compliance with policies and regimes for financial management - accounting and construction investment management. The scope of the audit includes the 2024 budget year and related periods.
With the theme of rearranging and handling real estate, the Audit Team will focus on the process of developing, proposing and implementing real estate handling plans for the period 2018-2024 and related periods. Particularly for health waste management, the audit content aims to assess the implementation of waste management responsibilities and the use of waste management funds at the Ministry of Health and hospitals in the period of 2022-2024.
At the announcement ceremony, representatives of the State Audit Office of Sector III provided specific information on the auditing teams, tasks and implementation methods. Representatives of the Ministry of Health also discussed coordination.

Mr. Nguyen Tuong Son - Director of the Department of Planning and Finance, emphasized the important role of auditing activities in supporting the Ministry in improving management and governance efficiency. According to Mr. Son, the health sector provides many services, so it is inevitable that there will be shortcomings; thanks to audits, inadequacies will be promptly detected and corrected.
The representative of the Ministry of Health affirmed that they will absolutely comply and prepare sufficient documents to coordinate well with the audit team. The members of the audit team are also recognized for their standard and professional work.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Chief Auditor Vu Ngoc Tuan requested units under the Ministry of Health to provide timely and accurate information and documents, and emphasized that audits must be conducted scientifically, in a spirit of coordination, limiting the impact on regular work. He also noted that the audit team needs to soon develop a detailed plan and send it to units for smooth coordination.
