Kon Tum - Ngoc Linh ginseng with health-healthy pharmaceuticals continues to be studied for application in many other fields.

On May 17, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province said that the province's long-term orientation is to become a major medicinal herb region of the country, while studying more useful features and remedies from the "land" of Ngoc Linh ginseng.

According to statistics, districts such as Tu Mo Rong and Dak Glei have grown about 2,922 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng, reaching 65% of the target set by the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution.

To protect the Ngoc Linh ginseng brand and consumer rights, the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee has allocated more than 13 billion VND to invest in a DNA analysis system and a device to check the ingredients of ginseng.

Over the years, Ngoc Linh ginseng has been highly appreciated for its effects on consumer health, and has been recognized by modern science and traditional medicine for its high pharmacological value, especially the saponin content in ginseng.

Ngoc Linh ginseng has helped nearly 2,000 households in Kon Tum escape poverty. Many families have improved their income by growing ginseng, buying cars and gradually getting rich.

In the coming time, Kon Tum will continue to develop raw material areas and preserve sustainable genetic resources. Authorities need to promote research and application of post-harvesting and deep processing technology, improve quality standards and traceability.

These are key factors to increase the added value of the product. Kon Tum expects active ingredients from ginseng to be widely applied in the fields of healthcare, community health care, and at the same time contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.
