On October 5, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thap - Vice Chairman of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee signed and issued an official dispatch requesting departments and branches to promptly implement Power Plan VIII (National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050).
Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee requested investors of power projects in the area to urgently implement the progress in the approved investment policy.
In case the investor does not comply with the commitment and does not ensure progress, Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee will resolutely revoke and terminate the project in accordance with the provisions of law.
On the other hand, Kon Tum province will also avoid the situation where investors lack financial capacity, slow project implementation, affecting the progress of electricity planning in the province.
Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to handle difficulties and obstacles, creating favorable conditions for investors of power projects to carry out compensation and site clearance work.
Investors build and complete legal procedures to put the project into operation, serving socio-economic development.
At Mang Den eco-tourism area, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee granted the decision on investment policy for the largest wind power project in the province to the investor, Kon Plong Wind Energy Company Limited.
The total area of the project is expected to use 66.04 hectares with a total investment of about 3,500 billion VND. The wind power plant project has a capacity of 103.5 MW.
This power project will be appraised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, then submitted to the Prime Minister for approval. Kon Tum hopes that this large renewable energy project, part of the Power Plan VIII, will increase the province's budget revenue.
