Accordingly, the Lai Chau Provincial People's Council has just decided on a list of 68 land plots to be bid to select investors to implement investment projects using land in the province. The projects mainly focus on the energy sector in line with the province's sustainable development orientation.
According to the resolution, the energy sector accounts for 67/68 projects, including 2 solar power projects and 65 hydropower projects, exploiting the maximum potential of local water resources and solar radiation.
2 large-scale floating solar power projects will be implemented on the Ban Chat hydroelectric reservoir area, in Muong Than, Than Uyen, and Muong Kim communes.
With a total capacity of 550 MW on the total expected land area of 1,288 hectares (including water surface area), these two projects promise to add clean energy to the national grid.

For 65 medium and small hydropower projects widely distributed in the province, the total designed capacity is 773.3 MW and the total expected land area is 1,398 hectares.
Notably, Nam Ma Hydropower Plant (expected implementation location in Mu Ca commune) has a total expected land area of 100 hectares, the project will create a designed capacity of 40.5 MW.
These projects not only contribute to ensuring energy security but also create more jobs and promote infrastructure development in the locality.
In addition to energy, the health sector is also focused on the project to build Tan Uyen Private General Hospital in Tan Uyen commune. The project has an area of 3 hectares, built according to the standards of a type 2 hospital, and is expected to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of about 10,000 patients/year.
The Resolution also provides a specific roadmap for investors interested. The plan to organize bidding for all 68 projects will be implemented in the period of 2025-2030.
The progress of bidding procedures for investor selection is set at 12 months, calculated from the date of approval of the investment policy.
The Provincial People's Council also assigned the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee to be responsible for organizing and implementing. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Committees of the People's Council, the People's Council Delegation Groups and the Provincial People's Council delegates were assigned to supervise the implementation of the Resolution.
The above Resolution was approved by the 15th Lai Chau Provincial People's Council, 31st session on September 26, 2025 and took effect from the date of approval.
The issuance of a list of 68 projects calling for investment is a strategic step, demonstrating Lai Chau's determination to improve the investment and business environment, attract resources to effectively exploit potential and strengths, creating momentum for development.
