Interest rates on 13-month term deposits are being listed at high levels by some banks, with the highest level reaching 10%/year but accompanied by conditions on deposit balance.
PVcomBank is currently leading with an interest rate of 10%/year for 12-13 month term deposits, receiving interest at the end of the term. However, this interest rate is only applied to customers who deposit money at the counter with amounts from 2,000 billion VND or more.
Under normal conditions, the interest rate for 12-month term deposits, receiving interest at the end of the term at PVcomBank is at 5.3%/year.
Next is MSB with an interest rate of 9%/year for 12- or 13-month term deposits. The applicable condition is that the savings book is newly opened or opened from January 1, 2018 and automatically renewed, and has a minimum balance of 500 billion VND.
SCB is applying an interest rate of 8.7%/year for the "Normal 13-month Deposit" product, for customers to receive interest at the end of the term. Under normal conditions, this is currently the highest interest rate in the market for a 13-month term.
The rate of 8.7%/year is also the highest interest rate in SCB's current deposit interest rate schedule and only applies to the 13-month term of this product. Other terms and deposit products at the bank are kept unchanged.
On the market, the interest rate for 13-month term deposits at some other banks is also at a high level. Saigonbank lists the online deposit interest rate for a 13-month term at 7.9%/year. The interest rates for 12-month and 18-month terms are 7.2%/year and 7%/year respectively.
At LPBank, the online deposit interest rate for terms of 13-18 months is listed at 7.15%/year. Meanwhile, the 6-month term has an interest rate of 7%/year; the terms of 12, 24 and 25 months are also at 7.2%/year.
