On July 20, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province informed that one of the highlights of the industry in the coming time is Dak Nong Aluminum Electrolysis Plant, which is expected to announce the first aluminum ingot product of Vietnam at the end of July 2026.
The factory is undergoing trial operation, striving to produce about 60,000 tons of aluminum in 2026 and reach a designed capacity of 450,000 tons/year from 2027. The project is expected to create a boost for the province's industrial growth.
According to Mr. Bien Tan Tai - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in addition to the aluminum electrolysis project, many high-value processing and manufacturing industrial projects are also being put into operation or expanding production.
Notably, Neotek Vietnam Factory with a capacity of 12 million car brake discs/year and Shiny Circle Vietnam Factory with a capacity of 18,000 tons of stationery/year have been operating since May 2026.
Nam Ha Vietnam Shoe Factory also increased its capacity to about 6.8 million pairs of shoes per year after adding 3 production lines.
In addition, Novita decorative brick factory currently achieves an output of more than 17,300m2/month.
From now until the end of the year, many other projects are expected to operate such as Bags Connection BT Factory producing suitcases and handbags, Kaoshing zipper factory and Factory producing mechanical components and steel shelves.
The simultaneous operation of projects is forecast to lead to increased electricity demand; and at the same time create more room for industrial production growth, exports and job creation.
The Department of Industry and Trade sets a target for the industrial production index (IIP) in 2026 to increase from 12.75 - 13.32%, contributing to the implementation of the two-digit economic growth target of Lam Dong province.
Recently, Standing Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen requested the Industry and Trade sector to continue to operate drastically, coordinate with departments, branches and businesses to maximize growth potential and complete economic development targets for 2026.
