On April 24, at the citizen reception in April 2025, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung - Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee requested the establishment of an interdisciplinary working group to immediately inspect and comprehensively assess the current status of the operating area of Nui Phao Mineral Exploitation and Processing Company Limited.
The working group is responsible for specifically determining the level of environmental pollution (water, soil, air), landslide risk using a database of scientific monitoring and measurement and in accordance with regulations.
On that basis, advise and propose to the Provincial People's Committee solutions to promptly resolve the people's petitions. The deadline for completing the inspection and reporting the proposal is not more than 45 days from April 25, 2025.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province requested Dai Tu district and related units to develop plans, forecasts, handle and respond to incidents, accompany local people in the process of handling by competent authorities, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
Previously, people in Hamlet 13, Tan Linh Commune, Dai Tu District submitted a petition on the activities of leveling soil and rocks and constructing the Northern wastewater collection canal of Nui Phao Mineral Exploitation and Processing Company Limited, causing environmental pollution.
According to the people, smoke and dust are distributed in the air, domestic water sources are affected, along with the risk of landslides, threatening the safety of property and people's lives. Faced with the above situation, people have recommended evacuating from the dangerous area.
Regarding this incident, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has issued many documents directing departments, branches, units and localities to consider and resolve citizens' petitions. However, up to now, citizens have not received satisfactory answers, leading to frustration, large gatherings, complaints beyond the level, causing insecurity and disorder.
Nui Phao Mineral Exploitation and Processing Company Limited is a business operating in the field of mineral exploitation and processing in Thai Nguyen province, the Company owns the Nui Phao multi-needle mine with the largest reserves of vonfram in the world.
