Taking business development as the foundation for "double-digit" economic growth

Dong Thap - Provincial Party Secretary requests businesses to join hands to promote production, expand exports, contributing to the implementation of the "double-digit" economic growth target.

On April 16, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province - along with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches visited and worked with businesses in Long Giang Industrial Park. To date, the industrial park has reached a occupancy rate of more than 87% with 63 projects, total registered capital of over 57,000 billion VND. Currently, there are 62 operating businesses, creating jobs for more than 35,300 workers.

In the first quarter of 2026, production and business activities continued to maintain positive growth momentum, with estimated revenue of over 27,300 billion VND (up 8.58%), industrial production value of over 24,400 billion VND (up 8.26%), export turnover reaching over 962 million USD (up 10.07%). However, the business community still faces many difficulties due to the impact of global economic fluctuations, especially increased raw material and logistics costs... After listening to opinions and recommendations, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong acknowledged the efforts of the business community, and at the same time requested businesses to continue to innovate technology, improve productivity and product quality to increase competitiveness.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted the importance of focusing on environmental protection. "Dong Thap province always accompanies businesses and is committed to continuing to improve the investment environment, promptly remove difficulties, and create favorable conditions for businesses to develop in the long term. Departments and sectors must strengthen coordination and proactively support businesses more effectively," Mr. Cuong emphasized.

The Provincial Party Secretary also requested departments and branches to join hands with the business community to promote production, expand exports, contribute to the implementation of the "2-digit" economic growth target; pay attention to training skilled human resources, improving foreign language proficiency to meet the needs of businesses.

Previously, the working delegation surveyed a number of typical enterprises in the industrial park such as: Bellinturf Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. and Dong Jintian Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd.
